Great photos as always.

My folks used to take the Herald Examiner. That paper has certainly been gone a long time.

The bottom picture of the woman in the two-piece bathing suit standing on the man's outstretched hands is impressive. Especially since the man whose outstretched hands she is standing on has his right leg crossed over his left leg at the thigh. Wow. I love her giant bathing suit; wonder if she's still alive.

There was an interesting article in The Simthsonian Magazine within the last 7 or 8 years about the original Muscle Beach. It talked about the woman and man in the photos. When I was a kid in LA, around 7 or 8 - when it was my Uncle's turn to babysit, he would take us to the original Muscle Beach in Santa Monica. I was too young to be much interested in the muscle men, but I always remember going there.

Best - Hester
